4 OUT OF TOP 10 Office Gripes are IT Related

We moan for 77 hours per year at work?! Really? 4 OUT OF THE TOP 10 Office Gripes are IT related

A recent study shows that officer workers like to complain – A LOT!  We Brits like to voice our unhappiness about a whole host of things at work; getting too many emails to smelly food in the office to someone stealing your mug to people speaking too loudly.

Here are the Top 10 Office Grumbles

  1. Getting a phone call when you’re literally about to leave the office
  2. Computers being slow
  3. IT issues
  4. The temperature being too low/high
  5. No air conditioning
  6. Computers crashing
  7. Printers jamming or breaking down
  8. Colleagues who are difficult to work with
  9. When someone uses your desk when you’re away and leaves it messy
  10. Freezing cold air conditioning

We spend over 10 working days a year complaining with IT issues being right at the top of the list.  That’s a serious amount of time not being happy in the office and pushing blood pressures through the roof.  Can you imagine if we moaned about nothing at all and what else we could be doing with that time!

4 OUT OF THE TOP 10 gripes are IT related with the second most common complaint being “my computer is too slow”.  A close second to that last minute inbound phone call as the clock strikes 5.30pm and you have to take it.  That’s the BIGGEST whinge-worthy problem.

We’ve all experienced that difficult person to work with or having mind blowing deadlines that are almost impossible to keep to.  Have you endured that time where you have a meeting for the sake of having a meeting or having a “meeting about a meeting”?

Office workers are most likely to shout about IT failings and continued IT issues, with the highest proportion of complaints being about a slow computer or having a printer problem.
